Avon Big & Multiplied Volume Mascara

I am super picky when it comes to mascaras. When I find the one I like, I mostly wear that one. For me, a good mascara needs to volumize and lengthen my lashes and make it super black. Avon Big and Multiplied Volume Mascara is definitely not one of them. When I first started using it, I didn't like it at all. I didn't like the effect that gives to the lashes, so I did some research on Google and found out bloggers mostly love it, so I continued to test it, but I still don't like it. It took me some time to write this review, because I don't usually talk about things that disappointed me on my blog, I was thinking maybe doing a whole post of products that disappointed me, but at the end I decided to write a whole review of this mascara with before and after picture.

It comes in a big silver packaging with black writing on it. The wand is medium size and I find it hard to use, I always end up with mascara all over my eyelids. Its formula is very wet at the beginning but it dries a little after a few weeks. It is easy to remove.
On the Avon website they claim that this mascara detangles, separates and provides volume. I would say it makes a good job by separating the lashes at a first coat, but as soon as you want something more it starts to clump the lashes. It doesn't provide any volume either. It starts to flake quickly and it definitely isn't a mascara for summer.

This is my first Avon mascara and I'm disappointed. Avon has a lot of products that I love, but this particular mascara isn't one of them. If you're looking for a great mascara for summer I would recommend to you I Love Extreme Volume Mascara by Essence, which has a waterproof formula, and 3D Lash Multimizer Mascara by Catrice. They are very cheap, under 5€ and I love them both.

Have you tried this mascara? Thank you for reading!

Summer Makeup Favourites

Summer Makeup Favourites

In this post I will talk about my favourite makeup. I forgot one thing and that's Beach Glow Fluid from The Beach House TE by Essence, but I already talked about it here. There will also be a separate post about my summer/travel essentials I discovered when I was on the seaside.

Essence Pure Nude Makeup in 20 Pure Sand
Perfect for these hot days we have right now. In the winter and spring I have been using Catrice Nude Illusion, but I much prefer this one for summer. I already made a review here. It has a light consistency, it blends well, it feels more like a bb cream than a foundation. With a Mattifying Compact Powder by Essence it lasts almost the entire day, then it slowly starts to disappear from the face. In my review I mentioned that the scent of this foundation bothered me a bit, but now I can report I can't even smell anything anymore.

Essence Blush Ball in 10 Peach Candy
I have been using a lot of blushes this summer, but this one is probably the one I use the most. I'm preparing a whole review, so I'm not going to say much. This blush gives my cheeks some peachy color and makes them glow. I took it with me to the seaside and it was so easy to apply it in the morning and later on in the evening.

Essence The Beach House TE Duo Blush in 01 give me vitamin sea!
Another one I have been using a lot. I love how pigmented it is and that it lasts through the day. I love this shade for summer. I talked about it here.

Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls in Pink Bronze
The first thing I have to mention it's the smell, to me it smells so good, sometimes I open it just to smell it. I use these pearls as a highlighter on my cheek bones. The pearls are in pinkish bronze color, just like the name says. They also contain shimmer. On the seaside there were only three things I used every day, first the Blush Ball, then Beach Glow Fluid for a highlighter, both by Essence, and on the top of the last one these pearls. Let me let you, it looks amazing.

Catrice 3D Lash Multimizer Mascara
I love how it makes my lashes look. It makes them black and gives them volume. I also love the wand. If you want to know more about the mascara I have a  review here.

Catrice Prime and Fine Anti-Shine Blur Stick

Catrice Prime and Fine Anti-Shine Blur Stick was probably number one thing I wanted to buy, when Catrice released their new products for spring and summer 2016. This product promises to make pores and fine lines disappear, it even promises a matt complexion and that last thing is what I was the most excited for. The product can also be applied on top of foundation or underneath.

First, the packaging. It comes in a simple black and white plastic packaging that contains 6.5g of product. The product it's in a stick form and has to be twisted out. It probably isn't very hygienic, if you apply it directly to the skin, especially if you have acne problems. Then maybe you should use a brush. I haven't tried it, but it could probably work.

I only apply it to the forehead and on the sides of my nose to minimize my pores. The texture of the stick is silky and silicone like. It does minimize the pores and makes the foundation just slide on the skin. This product also promises a matte finish, but I don't agree with this one. Mostly I apply it under the foundation so the foundation goes on smoothly. Then I sometimes apply it on top of the foundation too. Yes, it does make my skin matte for some time (maybe two-three hours), but I have oily skin, so it doesn't last long, especially now in summer. It helps a little if you use a blotting paper and re-apply it, but not much. Maybe if you don't have oily skin, this will work on you.

Overall this is a great primer, it minimizes the pores and makes the applying of the foundation easyer, but if you are looking for a matte finish, this probably isn't for you. Maybe if you have dry skin it would work.

Let's Talk About Suncreens

Using sunscreen is very important, especially on your face, where your skin is thinner. Not just when you are on the beach or by the pool, even on daily basis when you go out to school, work etc. I was one of those people who never got sunburned, ever. I was also lazy and I hated that stiky feeling sunscreens left, so I didn't even bother to use them. But for the last few years now, I have been using them a lot. I know sunscreens can get quite expensive and if you use them a lot, it can get to a lot of money, but think this way, you will protect your skin and that's what matters. For today I have prepared four mini reviews of sunscreens that I'm currently using, one of them is also my favourite and is also budget friendly.

Avon Sun+ Moisturizing Face Cream
I got sent this sunscreen by Avon and I love it. I think I have never had such a great sunscreen for the face. I always hated putting sunscreen on my face, because they were always greasy and they left my face shiny. I remember last year, when I bought an expensive one from Afrodita, because I thought expensive ones are better. But they aren't. But this one from Avon is great. The consistency is very light, it sinks into the skin quick and it doesn't leave your face shiny. I will definitely bring it with me to the seaside.

Nivea Sun Protect & Bronze Tan Activating Protecting Oil SPF 30
Normally I don't use this kind of products (except for the Sundance sunscreen, but that one doesn't do anything for faster tanning, it's like a normal sunscreen). This one it's basically like an oil, that you spray on your body. I didn't like using it, because it's very greasy and sticky. So I used it only a couple of times. In that time I didn't really use it for a long period of time, so couldn't test if you really tan faster with it. This type of sunscreens probably aren't healthy, even if they have spf, and when I'm on the sun, I like to have a good sunscreen. If you are interested in such type of sunscreen then maybe try it, but as a normal sunscreen I wouldn't use it, because it's so greasy.
UPDATE: I took it with me to the seaside to properly test it out. It isn't so greasy that I got I feeling at first. It sinks into the skin fairly quickly. But you have to be careful, I didn't pay attention and I had a white shirt as a cover up and the sunscreen left marks on it that I can't get out. And the last, does it work? I tan very easily, but I did get a feeling I tanned faster.

Laboratoires de Biarritz Algamaris Creme Solaire Visage Bio SPF 30
Also for the face. This one has a slightly thicker consistency than the Avon one. Avon's spreads more easily, I also think you need a little more of this one to cover the entire face. But it has the same finish like the Avon's one, so it isn't greasy at all.

Sundance Schutz & Bräune Sonnenmilch SPF 30
This is the sunscreen I already talked on my blog here. I love this one. I always take it with me when I'm on the seaside or I'm by the pool. It says on the packaging you should tan faster with it, but I didn't notice that. I love that it isn't sticky or greasy. It sinks into the skin very quickly. Also the sunscreen that is left on the hands after, is quickly gone, so you don't have to worry about that either. It is also very cheap compared to others, around 4-5€.

Mirati Hand Cream

A while ago some Slovenian bloggers and me participated in a contest by Mirati. We could choose one Mirati product, they have sent it to us and then we had to take a picture for the contest. I also decided to make a review, because I like my product so much. I haven't been chosen, but congratulations to the three girls who did!

First a little about the company. Mirati Cosmetics are made with natural or naturally derived ingredients. The base ingredient in all creams and lotions is organic ghee. Ghee is clarified butter, originally used in various cuisines around the world and also as personal care products. Ghee benefits you in many ways. Containing antioxidants it helps to prevent occurrence of free-radicals which cause damage to skin cells. Antioxidants in ghee help skin cells to slow down their ageing, therefore fight and diminish fine lines, wrinkles and improve skin elasticity. The products are free from parabens, phthalates, sls, synthetic fragrance. Mirati is also committed to give at least 10% of their profit to good causes, so big thumbs up for that! If you want to know more about Mirati, click here.

The product that I chose is a hand cream. I don't use hand creams often, only when I have something important and I want pretty looking nails. So, when I use them, they have to be great. This one definitely is. It sinks into the skin quick, it nourishes the skin and the nails. I love the smell too, it smells like citruses, more like oranges. Hand cream also contains Aloe vera, which maintains the right moisture balance, soothes the skin after sunburn, fights bacteria and promotes skin self-healing. I would definitely recommend it to you.

It costs 12.31€ for 100ml and you can get it on Mirati website. Delivery within Europe is always free. They also have a sale on their website right now, where you can get the cheapest product for free.

Catrice Sound of Silence LE Pen Stroke Eyeshadow C03 mudITATION

Catrice Sound of Silence LE Pen Stroke Eyeshadow C03 mudITATION

I heard this new limited edition by Catrice, Sound of Silence, is already in stores, so I wanted to do a quick review of one product, or rather first impression, since I haven't been using it so much.  I made a preview of this collection, if you want to see it, here. I won't go into details, if you want to see a detailed review with swatches, you can go Petra's blog Adjusting Beauty, where she made a review of three products from the limited edition.

Catrice Sound of Silence LE Pen Stroke Eyeshadow C03 mudITATION

The pen stroke eyeshadow has a plastic packaging. On one side there is the eyeshadow and on the other a sponge applicator, that I tried to use, but I don't like it, because I couldn't really apply the eyeshadow on my lids with it, then I used my fingers and that worked better.

Catrice Sound of Silence LE Pen Stroke Eyeshadow C03 mudITATION

The eyeshadow is very creamy and it blends nicely. On my eyelids it didn't stay throughout the entire day, just a couple of hours, but I do have oily lids. It's a nice color, but a little too light for me, especially now when I have a little bit of a tan, I can barely notice it on the eyelids. If you have a lighter skin tone I would recommend it to you, because it is a nice creamy color for summer, but if you are a little darker, then maybe not.
It costs 4,29€ for 2.5g, the Sounds of Silence collection is available in July.
