Catrice Matt to Cheek Blush Stick and Ultra Matt Lip Powder

Today I'm going to write about two products that are new by Catrice. They came out as part of the autumn/winter update. I have been loving blush sticks lately and this brown one looked like such a nice autumnal shade, I actually had it on my wishlist too. But I didn't have the liquid lipstick on the WL, because I didn't trust that they would really be matte, but when I tried one in the store it impressed me big time.

Matt to Cheek Blush Stick comes in three shades, I bought the shade 010 Brownie & Clyde. It comes in a sleek matte black packaging with silver writing. In it, you get 6g of product for 4,69€. You can see the shade of the lipstick on the sticker that you can find on top of the cap.

It has a cream to powder texture and it's completely matte. I blend it with my fingers and it blends nicely. It has a scent, I think I smell vanilla, but it's quite subtleIt is a brown blush with a peachy undertone, I guess it could also be a bronzer for some, I did see some reviews where bloggers used it for bronzing. The pigmentation is good

At first, I had a love-hate relationship with it. It took me some time to figure out how much to apply. I have darker skin, especially now in summer, so sometimes it just blended with my skin and you couldn't even see it and sometimes it looked muddy, because I applied too much. After a couple of uses I got used to how much I need to apply and now I really like using it. It's such a nice shade and it looks like a bit of flush on my cheeks. Also, it has a good staying power, at the end of the day, I can still see it on my cheeks.

The second product is a Liquid Lip Powder. They have two ranges of these, Ultra Matt and Metal Matt. Of course, I chose the first one. Mine is in a shade called 070 Café Americano, Please! and you have five other shades to chose from, so the selection is not that big. But it seems they will be putting these lipsticks in some of their limited editions, so there you can get more shades. I already bought one darker lipstick from the Blessing Browns collection and on first glance, it looks similar.

It comes in a matte plastic packaging. I'm not the biggest fan of it, it looks bulky. You get 6ml of product for 4,29€, which to me seems really cheap for the quality.  The shade is similar to my lips, but just a tad lighter. The formula is quite liquidy but well pigmented and very soft. To me, it smells exactly like vanilla sugarThe applicator is nice and soft, I didn't have problems with applying the lipstick (but I do have a lighter shade, with a darker one a bought it's quite difficult) and it doesn't transfer too much product on the lips.

It completely dries in minutes, I wasn't expecting that at all. Once it's dry it's not sticky and it's kiss proof. I didn't notice that it would emphasize dry patches and it looks very smooth on the lips. It is long lasting, it just starts to disappear from the inner rim of the lips after some time, but it doesn't go patchy or anything. Because it's such a similar shade to my lips it doesn't even look bad when it starts to wear off, so sometimes I can get even more wear out of it, it depends on what I eat and how careful I am when eating. When I was swatching it, I had to use a makeup remover a couple of times and basically scratch my hand to get it off, but it still stained my skin a bit. It does start to feel dry after a couple of hours and when I was wearing it a couple days in a row, it did dry out my lips. Also,  it's not the most lightweight formula, if I compare it to one of my recent reviews, LO.V liquid lipstick feels a lot more comfortable on the lips.

I really like the liquid lip powder, the formula is great and I like how smooth it looks on the lips, it does dry my lips a bit, but I can overlook that because after all, it is a matte lipstick. I just wish they would have a better selection of shades, some darker mauves or some brown ones. I also love the blush stick. I'm glad I kept testing it when it didn't want to look okay, because I really like it now.

Thank you for reading!
