The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquids

The Body Shop x House of Holland Matte Lip Liquids

The Body Shop send me a lovely package for Christmas with these Matte Lip Liquids. In December I already reviewed one shade, which was a bright red. I really love the formula and I was actually planning to buy at least one shade more, so thank you TBS for sending me three of them!

Matte Lip Liquids come in a sleek round packaging with a velvet lid. These three shades came in a lovely lip shaped tin packaging that was actually a collaboration between TBS and House of Holland for their Christmas collection, but you can still get these lipsticks separately. Each costs 8,90€ and contains 8ml of product. Like I said in my previous review, the applicator is quite small and precise, easy to work with, but you will need to reach into the packaging a few times because the applicator doesn't hold a lot of product.

The pigmentation of these lipsticks is not the best, actually, I would say it's sheer. You will need at least two coats to completely cover your lips. The formula is very comfortable, it's one of my favourite matte liquid lipstick formulas. They need some time to set on the lips and the finish is perfectly matte. They do transfer a bit.

They all last for a few hours, I would say 4+ hours. They survive drinking, but not eating. After a couple of hours or after a meal they slowly start to fade from the lips, which is obviously the most visible by the darker red shade. Also, the lipsticks smell very sweet, like bubble gum.

Mauritius Dahlia 017 is a dark burgundy red shade. You can see the poor pigmentation the best with this shade. You will need two-three coats to cover your lips completely. It does tend to cling to dry patches sometimes.

Windsor Rose 032 is a light browny nude shade with a slight peach undertone. The shade reminds me on Bourjois Rouge Edtion Velvet liquid lipstick in shade Cool Brown, but the one from TBS looks so much nicer on the lips. Bourjois lipstick emphasizes dry patches and the formula isn't my favourite, but TBS lipstick looks and feels a lot comfier and doesn't look dry on the lips.

Nairobi Camellia 034 is a light rose shade, again with some peach hints. I normally don't like pink lipstick but this one is on the lighter side and it looks great. I like it.

I love these lipsticks, I'm so grateful I got a chance to try them. The formula is perfect for those with dry lips, it doesn't emphasize dry patches (except for the dark red one), it feels nice and lightweight on the lips, even after a couple of hours it still feels comfortable. The pigmentation could be better, but it doesn't really bother me. I would still really recommend them.

If you are interested, Maša from Low Maintenance Beauty also reviewed these liquid lipsticks on her blog and Ana from Mad About Red talked about a shade caled Paris Peony.
