Gift Idea for Skincare Lovers: Yanumi Cosmetics

The holidays are just around the corner, so I prepared another themed post with gift ideas - this time with products from Yanumi. I already talked about two of their products (natural deodorant and shea butter) back in October, but now I got three more products to test - lavender shea butter, apricot kernel facial oil, and jojoba facial oil. Keep in mind this post is not a final review, I will only write my first impressions because I didn't have enough time to properly test every product.

I know I talked about it before, but I adore the packaging and design, it's so pretty and colorful. It is also zero waste - meaning you can reuse it, recycle it or compost it.

Shea & Lavender Butter

I already talked about Yanumi's organic shea butter and I have mentioned how good shea butter is for the skin - nourishing, it's anti-inflammatory and has healing properties. This one smells like lavender and it's meant to calm down your body and soul. You also have one with lemongrass and one with rosehip. The lavender is quite strong but I can still smell the natural shea butter but, as I have mentioned, it doesn't bother me.  The butter melts when applied to skin and leaves a thin layer. I still like to use it on my feet and on dry parts of my skin, like elbows, knuckles, and cuticles.

Apricot Kernel Facial Oil and Jojoba Facial Oil

This time I also got to test two of their facial oils - apricot kernel and jojoba oil.

Apricot kernel oil is great for removing makeup and for hydrating the skin. It contains a lot of vitamins and active ingredients (omega 3 and 6). Apricot kernel oil is great for people with allergies and sensitive skin. The bottle comes with a dropper that works well. I find that about three drops are enough for a thin layer on my skin + a few for my neck. I haven't used facial oils in a long time, so it was nice trying something in this cold weather. I don't use it every day because I feel it would be a bit too much, but I do use it a few times a week - I apply three drops to my face after my cleansing routine. I like the effect it has, the next morning my skin looks more plump and nourished. It also performs well at removing face makeup but I don't like it for removing mascara. Although it does remove regular mascara well, it blurs the vision, so I don't use it for that. Also, the scent is barely there, so it won't bother you.

Jojoba oil is great for all skin types, it also contains lots of vitamins, minerals, and ceramides. It is widely used for stretch marks and mature skin. It's also anti-inflammatory, so it's great to use for shaving or after shaving. I also like to use a few drops on my hair, to make it sleek and shiny, or on my cuticles and hands now that the skin is dry from the cold weather. One more tip - use it on your cheeks and nose before heading out in winter, to protect them from getting dry. This one has a bit stronger scent than the apricot one, but it's still very subtle.
