Essence Shine Last & Go! Gel Nail Polish 22 I Believe

Essence Shine Last & Go! is a new nail polish line by Essence, it replaced The Gel Nail Polish line that I really liked. The new formula should ensure optimal durability, amazing shine, it should be highly pigmented and dry much faster than the old formula.

The first change is the bottle design which I don't like, it looks more childish. It contains 8ml of product and I think the price is 1,69€. The brush seems the same, maybe just a bit more rounded but it's quite wide and really easy to apply the polish. I don't like the new bottle because the cap is clumsier to hold, the old one was better.

I loved the formula in The Gel Nail Polish line, it was creamy, pigmented, shiny and it lasted a good couple of days on my nails. The only issue I had was that it got thick so fast, sometimes after a couple of uses, I couldn't even use the formula anymore. The new formula looks the same, I do think it dries more quickly but it's pretty much the same and I really hope it won't get thick so easily. I needed two-three coats to cover the nails. One thing that I did notice is that on one finger the bubbles started to appear when it dried (I'm not sure if you can see it on the photo). I don't remember this happening with the old formula but I saw some people complaining about the same thing. This only happened the first time I wore it, the second time was completely fine.

I have seen somewhere that the shade range should be the same or almost the same to the old one and I have seen some matches. I grabbed the shade 22 I Believe and at first, under the store lights, I thought it was my old favourite A Whisper of Spring because it has some lavender hints, but it's not, now I think that it's more similar to Serendipity. Like I said, I Believe is a grey-based shade with a lot of pastel lavender tones. The finish is very shiny and the lasting power is impressive. It lashed on me for five days, then my nails started to break and I had to remove it.

I really like the formula, I just hope it won't get bad quickly, like the old one. I like the brush, the shiny finish, the bottle is not the prettiest but it's okay, plus it the formula lasts for a while on my nails. For a nail polish to last five days on my week nails, that's very impressive. I already bought two more shades, Millennian Pink and Fame Fatal.
