Malinca Clay Mask

Malinca Clay Mask

Malinca is a Slovenian online store that sells a lot of healthy products, if I can say so. They have some healthy food, as well as some natural cosmetics, kitchen tools and accessories, books and even jewellery. Their website is very well made in terms of the information you get on every product, if the product is vegan, gluten free, lactose free, how the product is made and how to use it. I did try some of their products before, but at a blogger event I got a sample pot of a clay mask from Malinca and I started to use it right away.  Malinca then kindly sent me one to test. I already used up the sample one, so I'm happy I got a big packaging.

If you are not familiar with clay masks, I found a little something in a great article here. Clay masks are mostly mistaken to be just for oily skin types, because they absorb oils and help to control the shine. But they are also filled with minerals our skin needs, nutrients sink into the skin and make the skin look soft, smooth and brighter. Clay masks also boost elasticity, minimize signs of ageing, eliminate toxins and dirt from the skin and so on. So they really for all skin types.

Malinca's Clay Mask comes in round grey and white plastic packaging with a sticker with raspberries (Malinca means raspberry in Slovene) and product name at the top. I actually love the packaging, it's so simple and cute. It contains 90g of product and you can get it for 5.99€ here (it's currently on offer for 5.39€). On the bottom, there is a sticker with ingredients, you can see that this is a 100% clay. The clay itself is grey and very finely milled.

I think this is my first proper clay mask, I only used those Balea ones or something similar, but I never had one which I would have to mix with water. You have to mix together the mask and the water in 3-2 ratio. Obviously, you can do it how you like it, you can make it thicker or more liquidy. I prefer to use it a bit thicker. I don't always apply it all over my face, sometimes just on my nose and my forehead.  It starts to dry quickly and as far as I know and I heard, you shouldn't let it dry, you should keep it wet with a water spray or something like that. I use the basic Balea Wasserspray. I leave it on for about 15 Minutes, spray in between and then rinse it off with water. After my skin feels clean and really looks brighter, a bit dry, but not too much. After I apply a good night cream, I love the 4 Kids and Us Rejuvenating cream and my skin feels super good after and even in the morning it looks glowy and healthy.

I love this mask, I like that I can play around and mix it myself. If I'm honest, I sometimes just do it on my hand, I put some clay in my palm, then I add water and I mix it with my fingers. It also rinses off the sink quickly, so you don't have to worry about making your sink dirty. I like how clean and nice my skin feels after I use it and that it still doesn't feel too dry. I definitely recommend it.
