What I Have Been Using Lately (and Philips Lumea Quick Review)

In the last weeks or months, I got a few new products that I didn't get a chance to write about yet. In this post, there are also some old favourites of mine that I have been using and wanted to mention again. I also included a quick little review of my Philips Lumea. When I got it, I planned to do a whole review but I just didn't have a chance, so I decided to just include a mini-review in this post.

These three are one of the few makeup products that I use lately, they all are my old favourites. Catrice Eyebrow Set is perfect for me, the colours suit me well and it's quick to apply. The Revolution bronzer is the best bronzer that I have tried, it gives a nice subtle sheen and glow to the skin, the shade is great for my skin tone, especially in summertime. The concealer is the only base product that I have used in the last few months. I only use it when I want a bit of coverage or I want to even out my complexion for a special event.

I have been a fan of this shampoo since when I got it, it's my most used shampoo, I use others mostly because I still have a few other brands laying around and I want to use them up. I found it's best for my hair because it's very hydrating but not too much like Elseve Extraordinary Oil Nourishing Shampoo. I really like that one but I feel that my hair gets greasier quicker but I do reach for it when my hair feels drier. The Aloe Vera one also has a very subtle scent that doesn't linger on my hair and that's a another plus for me.

Gliss 7 Sec Express Repair Treatment (Ultimate Repair)
This is so good that I can't even explain it. I love it because it works really quickly (I leave it on for a few seconds or even a minute) and it makes such a difference. My hair is so soft later, almost too soft. My hair doesn't tangle but I feel that it would be also great at detangling. There is a lot of different versions from various brands but I hear this one seems to work best.

Balea Cleaning Oil (Reinigungsöl)
As I said, I rarely wear makeup or foundation, so lately I have just been using Balea's Cleansing Gel but now that I have started to regularly wear sunscreen (I was a bit lazy in the winter and didn't wear it every day), I needed something to properly cleanse my skin. This oil from Balea is not my favourite because I need to use quite a few pumps and it uses up quickly but it doesn't break me out, which is a plus.

Foreo Luna Mini
I have used this ever since I got it (sometimes I forgot about it for a while but I quickly get back to using it). It's fascinating how it makes such a difference in my skin because it feels like it doesn't do much in terms of cleaning the skin. I use it with Balea's Cleansing Oil or any of Glina's soaps. I usually don't use it for more than I minute because I'm lazy but it works either way. My skin feels soft to the touch and it looks so much nicer and softer after I use it.

Balea Niacinamide AHA Peeling
This is fairly new, I saw it on TikTok and people were raving about it. I used it a couple of times and for now, I don't love it. I do like it but I need to test it out more. It doesn't irritate my skin but I don't feel that it does much to it either. I like the bottle and the design though, a step up for Balea.

What I Have Been Using Lately (and Philips Lumea Quick Review)

I reviewed this foot mask back in December and I wasn't so impressed with it, but my opinion changed. I have very dry skin, so I try to use hydrating and nourishing products, especially on my legs, where the skin is the driest. Here and there I try to use up a cream that I don't love but still like, so I actually use up my products when I open them. I started to use this one on my legs (I know it's called a foot mask but I don't care) and I really like it. When I apply it, it doesn't feel like it would do much, but it leaves a layer that nourishes my skin well and it helps, so my skin doesn't itch me to death. I liked it so much that I already used it up.

My favourite sunscreen for a while. The texture is light and it feels like nothing on my skin. When I'm going out I like to mattify it with some powder because it can start to look a bit oily. One more thing - it can sting my eyes sometimes, but now, that I wash my hands immediately after I apply it, it happens really rarely.

CeraVe Facial Moisturising Lotion PM
Another favourite. I wasn't a fan of the AM version but PM version is different, I get why it's a cult favourite. It has good ingredients, I'm not an expert, but it contains three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid. I like to use it in the morning but I find that it's a bit too much if I use it every day +  the sunscreen because my skin gets a bit oilier looking, so I skip a day every now and then.

What I Have Been Using Lately (and Philips Lumea Quick Review)

Hands down one of THE best things I splurged on. A few people asked me about it when I posted about it in an old post but I didn't get a chance to write a review, so I decided to include it in this post. I know that there are a few different brands offering these types of products but back when I wanted to buy one, I think there were Philips and Braun but Braun was a lot cheaper than Philips, so I had it in my mind that it wouldn't work so well. I didn't get the most expensive Philips either, I think that one comes with lots of different attachments but you really don't need more than two. Also, keep in mind that these devices work best on light skin tones with dark hair.

My Lumea comes with 5 settings that you can choose from, I usually go for 4 or 5, sometimes 3, depending on the area. As far as the pain goes, it's not bad for me, if you have somewhat high pain tolerance, this shouldn't really bother you much. It comes with two attachments that are more than enough (one for the face and one for the body).

The most important thing - it works. Even after the first treatment, I could see the difference in how thick my hair was. After 3 or 4 treatments on some areas hair completely disappeared but keep in mind that if you don't do a treatment in a while, the hair will start to grow back (but not as much and as thick as at the start). I do follow-up treatments every now and then. If you have thick and dark hair, I couldn't recommend the Lumea more, 1000/10 definitely.

One more important thing that I want to mention - the Lumea is not recommended to use in the summertime because the skin is sensitive and it needs to heel, so the best time to use it is in the winter. So, after treatment, avoid the sun + use sunscreen.

Thank you for reading!
